Services for Undocumented students and Black Academic Success and Engagement have partnered up to host the inaugural Men of Color Conference at UC Merced. Enjoy a day of powerful speakers, workshops, and an opportunity to network with other Men of Color. This event is free and open to all UCM students, staff, faculty and surrounding Community colleges.

The Conference aims to highlight men of color in Higher education. It will educate, empower and motivate our students to strive for excellence in education. Throughout the day, students, faculty, staff and community members will engage in discussions encompassing the needs and issues that specifically men of color face, and how those issues intersect with their academic and professional careers. Topics will be centered around academics, education, personal wellness that highlight the highs and lows of men of color navigating college spaces.

We invite all students to participate, however, it is intentionally designed to help men of color gain a stronger sense of self as well as to connect with peers, faculty, staff, and with the larger Merced community. The goal of the conference is to increase the retention rates of men of color by providing opportunities for participants to:

1. Learn from and engage with professional leaders in the community;

2. Provide networking opportunities for participants to learn from each other;

3. Participate in workshops and small group discussions.
