The purpose of this workshop is to help our general members, pursuing a career in technology, gain an introduction to a widely used industry tool known as GitHub. GitHub is an online hosting service for software development and version control using Git. By diving into the basics behind GitHub, we hope to encourage our members to learn more about source control and provide an inside on how companies like Google, Microsoft, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Netflix use Git in their products.
