Navaratri is a festival that spans nine nights (and ten days) and is celebrated every year in the autumn. It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the south-Asian cultural sphere. Garba is danced around this symbol to honor the fact that all humans have divine energy. This has community participation from all age groups and genders and creates a feeling of oneness.
