We plan to host a recurring speaker event where bar-certified lawyers will visit UC Merced each month to provide legal seminars, answer student questions, and serve as judges for mini Moot Court trial sessions. This event aims to give students practical exposure to legal proceedings, helping them develop essential skills such as legal reasoning, public speaking, and critical analysis. By engaging directly with practicing attorneys, students will gain insight into different areas of law, courtroom procedures, and the realities of legal careers. Additionally, this event will create valuable networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with professionals who can provide mentorship and career guidance. With UC Merced’s growing pre-law community, this initiative will help bridge the gap between academic study and practical legal experience.
