The Campus Kick off is an opportunity for students to come out and relax in the shade to get out of the Merced heat and hang out. Additionally we hope it allows students to become familiar with a couple of the active political organizations on campus, the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) and the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). These clubs provided an outlet for students who feel unsatisfied with the current state of politics and life in America and globally, we seek to show students how they can become participated in our movements fighting for human rights and uplifting working class people around the world.
