Office of International Affairs

Mission: The Office of International Affairs (OIA) is committed to facilitating institutional and personal global engagement for UC Merced and its academic community. This committment proceeds from a recognition that--in an era of unprecedented interconnectedness--economic, social and political problems and their solutions cannot be understood or resolved in isolation. Instead they must be addressed through a globally-informed lens based on recognition and appreciation of diversity, inclusion, collaboration and cross-cultural communication. Areas of Service: OIA is composed of two primary service areas: 1. Study Abroad, and 2. International Students and Scholars. Each of these areas have designated staff who possess experience and expertise in their respective fields of purview. In addition, OIA serves at the campus-level resource for the Fulbright Program and works both independently and collaboratively to promote UC Merced internationally, develop partnerships with institutions abroad, and otherwise facilitiate internationalization.
