Quantum Control of Superconducting Resonators: Physics seminar

Lecture/Seminar - Natural Sciences | January 18 | 10:30-11:45 a.m. | 267 Classroom Building

5200 North Lake Rd, Merced, CA 95343

Frederick Strauch, Physics professor, Williams College, Williamstown, Mass.

School of Natural Sciences

Frederick Strauch, a physics professor at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., will present a lecture entitled "Quantum Control of Superconducting Resonators."

Achieving complete control of the quantum state of light is a problem of fundamental interest and relevant to many quantum computing proposals. Strauch will discuss recent progress on the control of microwave photons in superconducting resonant cavities, and describe theoretical proposals for Fock state synthesis, qudit logic operations, NOON state synthesis and multidimensional quantum memories for superconducting resonators.
