Event date changed for Draw Your Spud Guns: Materials Research Society potato-launch event

The Materials Research Society at UC Merced is hosting the first campus Potato Launch, from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at The Bowl.

Students get a chance to showcase their engineering and design skills by building a device to launch potatoes into the air to win prizes in two categories: longest shot and most interesting and unique design.

The spud-gun designs are being kept secret until the day of the launch.
